Heart Chakra

Heart Chakra

Here lies the origins of your selflessness, caring nature, compassion, ability to love and to take care of yourself as well as those around you. This chakra serves as the gateway between your higher and lower self, hence where you find the balance between your body and mind. The associated element with this chakra is air. The affirmations to use with this chakra would begin with "I love" which symbolizes the love you contain and give out.

Awakening:

Once awoken, you will have a clear and healthy distinction between the love you provide to others and the love you contain for yourself. You would empathize and feel for others. You would enjoy providing aid. This process is about connecting your body and mind in a powerful way. This will enhance your overall love and compassion for yourself as well as the others around you. You will feel more comfortable with both giving and receiving love.

Health issues when blocked:

This chakra blockage may lead to different types of pain in the chest, shoulders, and arms. You can also experience issues with your immune system.

Psychological issues when blocked:

Constantly withdrawing from intimate relationships leading to chronic relationship failure, coming off as a cold individual, being intolerant, frequently irritated, impatient, being overly critical of others, having a lack of compassion and empathy for others. With a blocked heart chakra you'll feel practically emotionless with a strong disconnection with those around you.

Healing when blocked :

Deep breathing exercises, spending more time with children, animals, as well as being in nature; eating more vegetables, doing backbends to open up your chest, volunteering and taking part in charity work.

Health issues when overloaded:

You would deal with depression, exhaustion, experience low blood pressure and have certain issues in the breast such as breast cancer, mastitis, or even lumps.

Psychological issues when overloaded:

With an overloaded heart chakra you can find yourself giving and caring so much for others while neglecting your own health and needs at the same time.

You'd constantly be putting the needs of others before your own, or also known as martyr complex, attract codependent-type relationships, feel a need for clinginess, frequent self-neglect, constantly feel jealousy, and always experiencing chronic relationship failures.

Healing when overloaded :

You can try deep breathing exercises, take part in counseling or therapy to help with relationships, grief/loss, self esteem and self care issues. Begin to set boundaries while even consider taking a little break from helping others to fully take care and focus on the improvement of yourself.
