This chakra can also be referred to as the sound chakra. This is where you speak your truth, hence why you can throw this chakra out of alignment when you deny to speak on what you truly believe or feel. This chakra governs all forms of communication including speaking, writing, and non-verbal expression. The associated elements with this chakra is ether or space, representing expansive and open communication. The affirmations to use with this chakra would begin with "I speak" which symbolizes your expression.

Awakening:

With an awakened throat chakra, your voice will become clearer, you'd say exactly what you intend to without sugar coating, and you will completely discern the truth. You will open up your throat and tap into your true creative expression. Certain qualities like honesty, clarity, the ability to listen, being able to express oneself and authenticity will become apart of your general character.

Health issues when blocked:

The throat chakra is known to influence the physical health in the area of the jaw down to the neck. Imbalances may manifest as infections in the throat, jaw pain, neck pain, and even lead to tone deafness.

Psychological issues when blocked:

A blocked throat chakra can manifest in many ways. It would present itself through factors like a weak voice, a fear of public speaking, a habit of lying, and writers block, having the inability to discern the truth, and inability to express yourself.

Healing when blocked :

General great and very affective ways to heal your throat chakra when blocked could be through sound and the strengthening your vocal cords. Practice things like singing, chanting, humming, and repeating mantras all enhance this chakra through sound. You can also surround yourself with the color sky blue more often by either wearing it, painting your surroundings in it, and generally having the color in your line of sight.

Health issues when overloaded:

An overloaded throat chakra can manifest physically through Hyperthyroidism, neck pain from hyper flexibility, tooth decay, cold sores or canker sores.

Psychological issues when overloaded:

An over active throat chakra will present itself after an overuse of the vocal cords. A variety of traits one might gain from an overload would be excessive talking, speaking without thinking, an inability to listen to others, and speaking truths without any sensitivity to others. You would constantly come off as a very opinionated or dogmatic individual that would prefer to speak your thoughts rather than listening to the thoughts of others.

Healing when overloaded :

The greatest way to heal an overactive throat chakra may be silence. Make the attempt to fight every urge you get to speak, especially if it deals with expressing personal opinions. Taking a vow of silence, even if it's for a short period of time. An entire day would be perfect but with realistic terms most of us would need to speak at some point with family or friends for communication purposes. Individuals who sing or perform usually refer to take this action as "vocal rest". Choosing not to speak can be a very transformative experience. You will start hearing things you've never heard before or even knew existed. If you must, keep a pen and paper near for communication purposes but completely stay off your phone as well. Stop speaking and take notice to everything you've failed to notice before.
