Perception
It is stated that perception is the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. In other words it is a way to interpret reality. As a result every organism would perceive reality differently due to the different circumstances of their environments and experiences while growing up. As an example with the image above, a limnologist could enter the scenery and their perception of the environment would include their awareness and knowledge on the body of water and perhaps even which aquatic animals that may be present in the water of this area; If a bench technician was to enter the same scenery, the perception of the environment would change because they would have less knowledge of the body of water and have a higher awareness of the benches in the area which would make it stand out more, noticing certain faults or even generating ideas on how to provide certain improvements to the benches present; Now if the limnologists, and the bench technician both remained in the same environment and were joined by a farmer, the perception of the environment would change again due to the farmer having more awareness and knowledge on the type of trees and soil in the environment. These three different awarenesses, causes three different perceptions in the same environment, at the same time.
More examples could be with individuals who are raised into christianity being compared with someone who's been raised into islam; They would find it more difficult to come to certain agreements. Things would always seem different from someone who is racist compared to someone who truly knows about genetics. Now to think of the world through the lens of a child, there would be way less focus on any type of judgmental analysis and more just being present to enjoy the moment. Hence different beliefs and awarenesses results in differing realities, at the same time, in the same world.
Generally, perception is based on knowledge. Knowledge is the awareness contained. Knowledge is based on what is known, while education is what is practiced. What is known, dictates what is seen. You will naturally overlook anything that you do not have a word for. The way you see is through a collection of words. You will only see according to your vocabulary. If we were to get a little deeper, words are nothing but symbols created to identify the things that exist. In a sense that would mean words create our reality because the more words we can see and interpret, the more reality we can see and interpret. Therefore hypothetically if you were to create your own words or speak through slang, you would control your own reality. To change your reality you must be mindful of how you perceive everything, and always remember that you have the power to obtain the control of the reality that you desire.
