In life good & bad will inevitably come and go; Your perception is the only place you can maintain control.

Acknowledge how bad you felt each time you were sad and angry, then acknowledge each time you were happy and laughing afterwards. Negative emotions only lasts as long as you make them.

Keep in mind the longer you dwell on something negative, the more control and energy you lose to it; The faster you let go of something negative, the faster you can gain your control and energy back. Acknowledge how you perceive circumstances to control how you respond.  

Be mindful to help you focus on what you're feeling in every moment without judgement. This is a type of meditation that includes certain practices which all contribute to the calming of the body and mind, helping your stress levels decrease.

For a "mental reset" Close your eyes and inhale for about 8 seconds, hold your breath for about 3, then exhale for 5. Your mind will feel lighter the more you repeat this process. Do this any time you feel overwhelmed or find yourself in any negative vibration.
